Saffron (aged 5 years) is a beautiful orange roan cocker spaniel who was born with brittle bone disease and a deformed right fore leg. Wendy and Graham rescued her at 6 months old as she was due to be put to sleep by her breeders. Following investigation by the veterinary team, Saffron was found to have missing joint structures from the affected leg and as a result has received continuous treatment for this to allow her to enjoy a near to normal life.
Sadly, Saffron’s condition has deteriorated further and her pain is now controlled with regular morphine. Following more recent X-rays, expert opinion has been sought. Saffron needs more than one joint replacing and will need to travel to London to have this complex operation performed. The price quoted for this life saving surgery is £3,000.
We would be so grateful if anyone can raise funds (however small) to put toward this large amount. If you wish to find out more, please contact Wendy for a friendly chat.
